The exhibit Women in the World Gender and the Origins of Stanford's Anthropological Collections introduces 17 women who have influenced anthropology at Stanford since the 1880s. When modern women of means traveled, their fascination with other cultures stocked museum collections and left a complex legacy.

This student-curated exhibit was researched in 2020-2021, including by student curators in the spring 2021 Museum Cultures course, and published by the Stanford University Archaeology Collections in fall 2021.
