Chinese American at Stanford: A Reflexive Archaeology (2016)

Chinese American at Stanford: A Reflexive Archaeology is a reflexive, student-curated exhibit produced by Bright Zhou (Class of 2016) during an independent study course. It presents evocative items excavated from the Arboretum Chinese Quarters site and the Stanford Mansion. These artifacts inspire student reflections on the broader Chinese American presence at Stanford, in the past and today. This exhibit is part of the Stanford Archaeology Center's Before Stanfordinitative, bringing to light stories of the deep and diverse cultural hsitory of Stanford lands; and of Stanford 125, the university's 125th anniversary highlighting the school's transformative impacts at the individual and global scale.
